KBSI Perspective
I am the first to acknowledge that my understanding of climate change comes from what the media tells me.  How much humans contribute to it discussed everyday but, like most of you, I really don’t know.  I do remember growing up near Lake Erie in Ohio when all the fish were dying and the lake became known as the dead lake.  Today, thanks to improved man-made conditions, Lake Erie seems to be thriving.  It has taken decades.  I know for a fact that the people using the lake contributed to the problem. This past May was the warmest May for the Earth on record.  May also was, according the news reports, the 351st consecutive month with a global temperature above the 20th century average.  Since 1880, nine of the top ten warmest May’s have taken place since the year 2000.  We have to remember that oceans make up 70% of the Earth’s surface and when the oceans are warm our weather changes.  Last week, 20 people were hurt on a plane traveling to Hong Kong when it hit sudden turbulence. A British study now says we are going to get much more turbulence in future flights because of climate change.  I wish I had some real answers but I don’t.  I would like to hear from you on this subject.Climate Change
