.Heavy rainfall last week continues to cause rises on the Wabash
River. At New Harmony, the river will crest at less than a foot
above flood stage today.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony.
* WHEN...Until early Friday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 15.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 15.7
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Thursday evening.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

.Recent periods of heavy rainfall have led to flooding along the
Wabash and lower White Rivers. Additional rainfall is expected
through Wednesday, with flooding persisting through midweek.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel.
* WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All
oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on
substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural
losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher
ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year
round.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:45 PM EDT Monday /7:45 PM CDT Monday/ the stage was 20.0
feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:45 PM EDT Monday /7:45 PM CDT Monday/ was 20.4
feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
early Wednesday morning and continue falling and remain below
flood stage.
- Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
