Strong to Severe storms likely on Saturday

If you missed the rain on Friday another line of storms is arriving on Saturday. Strong to Severe storms are possible starting in the afternoon heading into the evening hours.  Another chance for storms arrives on Sunday. The start of the day on Monday will be mostly sunny followed by a chance for storms in the afternoon. Temperatures stay warm the next three days in the 90s.

There is an Enhanced Risk (level 3/5) for Severe Weather in place throughout Saturday for Southern Illinois, parts of SE Missouri and western Kentucky. A Slight Risk (level 2/5) is in place for parts of SE Missouri and NW Tennessee and Kentucky.

Strong winds and large hail are the biggest threats, yet we are seeing a chance for possible spin-ups as well. Although the potential is on the lower end an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Stormcast is showing the storm activity starting in the afternoon hours. The biggest threats will being large hail, damaging wind speeds as well as strong to severe thunderstorms. An isolated tornado is possible, the Storm Alert Team will continue to tack this system as it arrives.

Half of the day on Saturday will be mostly sunny before storms arrive in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures stay warm in the upper 90s.

With warm temperatures and lots of precipitation our Skeeter Meter is in a medium ranking for Saturday and Sunday. Monday is not as warm, thus we see a lower ranking for mosquito activity.

Many temperatures in the 90s the next few days, with lots of chances for rain. We start the first day of July with a chance to see strong to severe storms. The storm chances continue into the start of next week with smaller precipitation chances on the 4th of July.
