Warm to end work week before tides change

Rain early Wednesday clipped some of our friends to the north, but it didn’t amount to much. We’ll have another shot at rain with the coming changes by the end of the week. But first tonight, clear and quiet is the name of the game.

Temperatures should be falling into the middle 50s for most to start Thursday.

Enjoy the sunshine while we can, as things will be changing by Friday. Warm again until a coming cold front from a low passing to our north sweeps through. We should see sporadic showers and thunderstorms here and there as the forcing from this front arrives by the afternoon and evening on Friday.

With that about two days out, there’s a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for isolated storms to become severe for some up north. Damaging wind gusts appear to be the biggest concern for now with this through parts of eastern Missouri and into Illinois.

This front will knock temperatures down by about 20 degrees over the coming days, with highs in the 60s scheduled for this weekend. Much cooler air from the north will be brought in with stronger northwest winds on Saturday.

But until then, we’ll be quiet with plenty of sun for a warm and bright Thursday.
