Rain starting Thursday, heavier during the evening
Tonight will feature temperatures back to around normal, with lows falling to the mid and upper 30s. We’ll have partly cloudy skies, but we’ll be rather quiet than this time tomorrow night. Winds will be light and out of the southwest.
With increasing cloud cover comes increasing chances for rain. Through the rain event we’re expecting to start especially by Thursday evening, we’ll keep mild temperatures around. Highs on Thursday will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Here’s a look at precipitation chances through the day on Thursday, with the best chances after the sun sets. Rain will start in southeast Missouri before becoming widespread into the night.
Speaking of that, below is a snapshot from Stormcast of when some of the heavier rain is expected to arrive later in the night. May even hear a rumble of thunder or two with this as well, but no strong storms will be impacting the area. Rain should wrap up by lunchtime on Friday.
In all, about a half inch to an inch will be possible by the time all is said and done on Friday. It’ll be a longer period of rain, but not a complete washout.
Again, we look to stay mild through this event, keeping temperatures above normal by about 5-10 degrees through the forecast period. After November goes out like a lion, December will come in like a lamb.
