Recent rain almost doubles November totals
The last round of rain really added up overnight into early Friday! In fact, it almost was what we had seen for the entire month of November coming all at once. Just under a half inch, Cape Girardeau recorded 0.45″ officially through Friday afternoon.
A look at other reports from across our area shows that Poplar Bluff and areas southwest of Cape Girardeau saw a good soaking. Paducah, too, got over half an inch of rain.
With talk of that recent moisture, some patchy areas of dense fog have been observed especially in and around Paducah. Fog will be possible tonight and through tomorrow morning, with calm winds and the bit of clearing we’ve seen.
This weekend and beyond, temperatures will be holding steady above average by 5-10 degrees. In fact, we may make a run for the upper 50s and low 60s as soon as Sunday.
Later in the week, signals are looking stronger for another good warmup into the lower 60s.
We’ll be in a quiet weather pattern once two quick disturbances move through this weekend. There’s small rain chances for both Saturday and Sunday night, but they won’t amount to much if we see spotty showers try to get going.
