Light snow, sleet possible north into Friday evening
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for our northern counties (mainly through southern Illinois) through Friday evening.
Our next system moves through today with a stronger cold front and a transition from rain to sleet/snow. Snow accumulation and sleet could add up around 1 to 2″ through this evening, mainly north of the I-64 corridor on grassy and elevated surfaces.
It’ll also be fairly breezy through this event with gusts around 20-30 mph as the cold front sweeps through.
Plan on slippery road conditions that may impact the evening commute in these areas.
