** This has been allowed to expire. **

TORNADO WATCH has been issued by the NWS Storm Prediction Center for eastern Missouri and western Illinois until 8 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Primary threats include a couple of tornadoes, damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail up to 1″ in diameter possible.

A line of strong to severe storms will continue to pose a threat for severe gusts and a few embedded tornadoes as it moves eastward into the Mississippi River Valley through early morning.

While the line should weaken with eastward progression through the morning, strong to severe storms will be possible early on.

A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and possible warnings.
