Hot on Tuesday, storms possible into Wednesday
The weather will keep us busy over the next couple days with hot and humid temperatures expected on Tuesday. There is a heat advisory in effect through the afternoon and evening hours tomorrow, be prepared with plenty of water and a plan to take frequent breaks from the heat if you find yourself outdoors.
We’ll heat up quickly into the 90s before noon, with high temperatures reaching the upper 90s and winds out of the south southwest.
Forecast high temperatures will span the upper 90s for most of the area, a few spots could crack the 100 degree mark.
Due to high temperatures well above average and dew point temperatures forecasted into the lower 70s, we could see heat index values reach triple digits across the board.
Excessive heat is the opening act for tomorrow’s weather story, we are under a marginal risk of severe weather on Tuesday afternoon into the early evening hours. Damaging winds and a chance for large hail are the primary threats across the region.
We see a better chance of seeing showers and thunderstorms during the early morning hours on Wednesday. We remain under a marginal risk for severe weather, with models showing storms working into the region around 5 am.
Sunshine returns on Thursday before heating back up into the 90s for the weekend. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, before starting next week in the mid 90s.
