Rain and storm chances on the rise for Father’s Day weekend
Wednesday and Thursday: Temperatures will warm up into the upper 80s with light and calm winds.
Friday: Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and evening. Flooding may become a concern for many areas through Friday night.
Saturday: Widespread rain showers are likely across the region. A few thunderstorms will be possible as well.
Sunday: A few scattered to isolated thunderstorms could develop in the afternoon and evening. We’ll continue to monitor this system closely for any potential severe weather as Father’s Day weekend approaches.
Wednesday morning, temperatures will be exactly like Tuesday morning, in the upper 50s and lower 60s for all of us. There will also be some areas of patchy fog in parts of SE Missouri Wednesday morning.
A light south breeze will help warm us up through your Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday, temperatures warm up a few degrees in the upper 80s even a few lower 90s possible under sunny skies. A good day to get out and enjoy the sunshine, before the rain and clouds move in this weekend.
Friday, a MARGINAL risk for excessive rainfall is in effect for most of SE Missouri and parts of Kentucky and Illinois. Flooding could occur in some areas through Friday night. Turn around and don’t drown!
Rainfall totals through Friday evening are ranging from 0.50″- 1.00″+. Some showers and storms could have heavy downpours, which will lead to minor flash flooding in some areas.
