Another seasonably warm day ahead for Cape Girardeau on Friday with highs in the mid-90s. Mostly sunny skies as we close out the work week with a southerly breeze between 5 and 10 miles per hour. Heat index values will range from 95 to 100 degrees.
Low temperatures tonight will fall to the lower and middle 70s across the area. Mostly clear skies remain for any Friday night or Saturday morning plans with a south-southeasterly wind.
High temperatures will continue to be a few degrees above average in the lower and mid-90s on Saturday. Mostly sunny skies continue for the start of the weekend.
Heat indices on Saturday will be close to 100 degrees for most of our area.
Mostly clear skies remain through the weekend before isolated daily storm chances move into the forecast on Monday. The best chances to see afternoon storms will be during peak heating hours next week. High temperatures will continue to reach the lower 90s for the rest of the extended forecast.
