Temperatures Near Average, Mostly Sunny Sunday
Forecast:
Mostly sunny skies on Sunday in Cape Girardeau with high temperatures today reaching the lower 90s. A southerly breeze continues to bring heat and humidity across the Heartland.
Low temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning will fall to the upper 60s and lower 70s with mostly clear skies. We should stay dry with winds out of the south-southeast at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
High temperatures on Monday will look very similar today, with many of us reaching the lower 90s. Mostly sunny skies to start the work week and a south-southwesterly breeze.
Conditions look good for both commutes tomorrow with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. Expect lower 80s as you head out the door on Monday with high temperatures topping out in the lower 90s.
Higher levels of humidity continue to stick with us Monday, therefore heat index values will range between the middle 90s to lower triple digits.
Southerly winds will continue to send moisture up from the south for the foreseeable future. Dew points will remain above 75 degrees which will give us heat indices ranging from 95 to 100 degrees.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms enter the forecast starting on Tuesday. These storms are expected to be scattered across the region, with the highest storm chances occurring during the afternoon hours. High temperatures in the lower 90s and low temperatures in the lower 70s will continue through the middle portions of August.
