Near-Average Temperatures, Plenty of Sunshine Through the Weekend
Forecast:
Forecast high temperatures in Cape Girardeau will be a few degrees below average in the mid-80s. Mostly sunny skies on Thursday with a north-northeasterly breeze between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
We should see a pleasant Thursday evening ahead with low temperatures tonight dropping into the mid-60s. The heartland should stay mostly clear this evening with a north-northeasterly breeze.
Near-average temperatures are expected to continue on Friday for much of our area, with temperatures reaching the upper 80s and lower 90s.
Here in Cape, temperatures should stay in the 70s close to noon, before topping out in the upper 80s. Mostly sunny skies to close out the work week with a north-northeasterly wind between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
Stormcast shows some widespread fair-weather clouds across the area throughout the day tomorrow, but we will stay free from precipitation chances.
Another day of manageable dew points ahead on Friday as well. Many of us are seeing dew points in the upper 60s, which is a relief from the mid-70s we saw for most of this summer.
Dew points will continue to fall heading through the weekend and into early next week.
The first half of the extended forecast keeps temperatures near-average for the end of August. Starting next week, you could mistake forecast temperatures for those we would see in October! Highs next week will fall into the lower 80s and then the upper 70s. Mostly sunny skies are expected for the entirety of the week ahead.
