A cloudy day ahead across the heartland with temperatures expected to remain cooler this afternoon in Cape Girardeau. High temperatures today will reach the upper 70s, although minimal sunshine will be seen for the rest of the day on Thursday.
Low temperatures this evening will drop into the upper 50s and lower 60s. Partly cloudy skies for Thursday evening with a light and variable breeze.
A smooth morning commute ahead in Cape with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will start out in the lower 60s before climbing to the lower 70s for the start of the workday.
High temperatures on Friday will range from the lower 80s to the mid-90s in our southeastern counties. A cold front will pass through the heartland during the day on Friday, bringing cooler air and storm chances in the afternoon and into Friday evening.
High temperatures in Cape on Friday will reach the lower 80s with a northwesterly breeze.
Storm chances remain isolated for the evening commute, but expect cooler temperatures in the upper 70s for the drive home to start the weekend.
Stormcast does show the best chance of seeing showers and thunderstorms for our area on late Friday night and into early Saturday morning.
There is a MARGINAL RISK (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather across our viewing area, according to the Storm Prediction Center. Quarter-size hail and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour could be possible in stronger storms.
Dew points will fall heading into the weekend, leading to a drier and comfortable week ahead.
High temperatures this weekend will be in the mid-to-upper 70s with mostly sunny skies. Cooler temperatures continue into the start of the week with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures are expected to heat up into the mid-to-upper 80s during the middle of next week.
