Dry conditions and summer heat raise fire weather concerns
The summer heat starts Wednesday! There is a small rain and storm chance in parts of Kentucky Thursday evening. Sunday evening, some of us could see a rain shower or thunderstorm. There could be some elevated fire risks starting Thursday due to the heat, low humidity(%) and dry vegetation across the region. Thankfully winds will stay light to try and lessen conditions.
Wednesday morning, temperatures will warm up back to above average in the upper 50s and 60s!
Relative humidity values will be between 30%-50% Wednesday. Once RH values get less than 30%, this means very dry conditions which will increase the risk for fire weather.
Wednesday afternoon will be hot! Temperatures will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s under sunny skies and calm winds.
South winds will thankfully be nice and light all throughout this week. This will lessen the risk a bit for fire weather this week.
