Forecast:

Another hot day ahead that looks to have a shot at a record high temperature for the day in Cape Girardeau. We will see mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-90s, with the record high for the day at 94 degrees set back in 2019.

A stray shower or thunderstorm will be possible to our west this afternoon, according to the latest runs of Stormcast.

Low temperatures tonight will be in the lower and mid-60s across the Heartland with partly cloudy skies.

Models have yet to reach a consensus on storm timing for tomorrow, but one run of Stormcast shows showers in our viewing area by 6 a.m. on Friday. Other model runs have pushed back the arrival time of the storms until the late morning and early afternoon. Best to be prepared for a few showers throughout the day on Friday!

Showers will be possible for our morning commute on Friday with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

Friday will be a few degrees cooler, but high temperatures will still be in the lower 90s. Chances for showers and thunderstorms continue through the afternoon, before leaving us with partly cloudy skies by Friday night.

Cooler temperatures off to our north and west tomorrow, but the majority of us will see the lower and middle 90s for high temperatures and light winds.

Small chances for rain on Saturday before better daily storm chances arrive late this weekend into early next week. Temperatures will gradually cool down into the upper 80s by Monday and into the lower 80s by the middle portion of next week.
