Cooler Temperatures, Wednesday Storm Chances Across the Heartland

Temperatures are not expected to rise much this afternoon in Cape, with our high temperature today only reaching the mid-70s. These cooler temperatures will be brought to you by heavy cloud cover and waves of showers this afternoon across the Heartland.
Stormcast does show showers across our viewing area this afternoon and into Wednesday evening. Prepare for wet conditions on the drive home from work today and for any evening plans. Localized FLASH FLOODING will be possible in areas that see repeated rounds of rain.
Our low temperatures tonight will drop to the upper 50s and lower 60s across the region. Mostly cloudy skies this evening with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Fortunately, storm chances will diminish before the Thursday morning commute.
A mostly sunny day ahead in Cape Girardeau tomorrow with high temperatures once again reaching the mid-70s. A north wind between 5 and 10 miles per hour will keep us a few degrees below average.
High temperatures for Thursday across the Heartland will reach the mid-to-upper 70s with mostly sunny skies.
After several cooler and rainy days earlier this week, mild temperatures will stick around into the weekend. Mostly sunny skies ahead with highs in the lower 80s heading into next week and for the start of October.
