Forecast:

Temperatures will look to stay close to average, if not slightly below, here in Cape Girardeau for the rest of Thursday. High temperatures across the area will be in the low to mid-70s this afternoon.

Overnight lows will continue to be on the cooler side across the Heartland, with many of us dropping into the 40s tonight.

In Cape, expect a chilly evening ahead with lows in the mid-40s. Winds are expected to remain light with mostly clear skies.

Friday’s high temperatures will be right around average for early October, with most of us in the mid-70s.

Mostly sunny skies for most of the day on Friday for Cape, with our high temperature in the mid-70s. Winds will be light for most of the day as well.

Our temperatures will stick around in the 70s for the first half of the weekend. Perfect football weather as SEMO hosts Tennessee State on Saturday at 3 p.m. under mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will then climb into the lower 80s for the start of next week.
