Quiet with near normal temps this week
The heaviest rain fell mostly to the north of Carbondale, Farmington, and West Plains. Some of us did see a decent rainfall, though. Over an inch in Poplar Bluff! The Cape Girardeau sensor was down, but we missed out on the heavy rain similar to Sikeston.
Severe storms held off for a good portion of Saturday night, but an isolated severe storm brought down some very strong winds to parts of southern Illinois early Sunday. There were several reports of power outages and trees down.
We’ll be quite a bit cooler for Monday with highs very close to the average.
Sustained winds will be in the 10 to 20 mph range, but wind gusts may reach the 25 to 35 mph range at times.
Cooler air sticks around for the next several days with another rain chance Friday and Saturday.
