Near-Record Heat for Christmas Day
A very warm close to our Christmas Eve is on the way with temperatures this evening in the 60s! After we set a new record high today in Cape Girardeau, hopefully Santa packed a pair of shorts for his visit tonight!
Going forward, a few clouds are possible on Christmas Day, but StormCast looks to keep us dry for the holidays.
Low temperatures tonight will be unseasonably warm for late December, over 30 degrees above average in some spots across our viewing area!
We are expecting some cloud cover tonight in Cape Girardeau, but warm temperatures are expected to continue. Our overnight lows will be in the middle 50s.
For tomorrow, we can officially say goodbye to a chance at a white Christmas with forecasts high across our region in the lower 70s.
A little bit of cloud cover will not stop us from seeing near-record high temperatures in Cape on Christmas Day. The current record sits at 74 degrees and was set in 2021.
Highs in the 70s continue into this weekend with another chance at a record high on Friday. Sunday marks a change in our weather pattern, bringing a chance for showers and cooler weather for the start of next week.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Storm Alert Team!
