StormCast shows a chance for a quick snow shower later this evening, with accumulations expected to stay at 0.10″ or less, should we see anything here in southeast Missouri. A better chance for accumulation will be in southern Illinois. Friday afternoon brings a chance for showers across our area.
Low temperatures will likely come right at midnight, as temperatures will rise with a strong southerly wind overnight.
Cloud cover is expected to increase with a brief chance of flurries tonight in Cape Girardeau.
Temperatures on Friday will be close to average, if not a couple of degrees warmer. Winds will stay strong out of the west.
The sun may try to peak out briefly on Friday before increasing cloud cover takes over for Cape. Light to moderate rain showers will be possible during the afternoon.
Temperatures will fall heading into the weekend, bottoming out on Sunday with a high in the upper 20s. We then slowly climb above freezing before more seasonable temperatures return by the middle of next week. Chances for precipitation are increasing for late Wednesday into Thursday, with a wintry mix possible.
