Friday Evening Rain Chances, Cooler This Weekend
Near-average temperatures come to a close on Friday afternoon as a colder stretch of temperatures arrives this weekend.
Temperatures will slowly fall into the upper 30s around dinnertime tonight. Cloud cover across the region will keep temperatures from rapidly cooling overnight.
Chances for showers continue into Friday evening, with StormCast showing a small chance of snow early Saturday morning.
Temperatures eventually fall to the mid-20s for the start of the weekend, which is right about where we should be this time of year.
Cloudy skies continue tonight in Cape Girardeau with a chance for showers and a flurry or two. Winds will shift to be out of the northwest, setting up for a cooler weekend.
Highs will be roughly 10 degrees below average on Saturday across the Heartland.
Breezy with variable cloud cover in Cape on Saturday as temperatures will struggle to reach the freezing point.
We do it all over again on Sunday after a frigid Saturday evening. Wind chills will likely be below freezing through the weekend, going as low as the single digits Saturday evening. Highs return closer to average for the middle of next week, ahead of our next precipitation chances.
