Dangerous Cold Arrives Following Weekend Winter Storm
With snow chances wrapped up, we now brace for some colder weather ahead. Temperatures on Sunday evening will be in the middle to lower teens.
Dangerous wind chills arrive on the backside of this weekend’s winter storm. An Extreme Cold Warning goes into effect at midnight and will go through Tuesday morning.
Here is a look at our future wind chills for Monday morning. Wind chills are forecast to be between -10 and -20 degrees below zero.

Air temperatures are expected to be in the single digits below zero, nearly 30 degrees colder than our typical overnight lows in late January.
Gradual clearing will be expected through the overnight hours in Cape Girardeau, with strong winds out of the north-northwest gusting to 25 miles per hour.
We try our best to reach the 20s on Monday across the area, but most of us will only see the upper teens.
Temperatures will be very cold on Monday as we continue to clear out from this weekend’s snowstorm in Cape.
Temperatures reach the upper 20s on Tuesday before we see a small chance of flurries late Wednesday evening. Another blast of cold air comes in later this week, with highs dropping to the teens and 20s.
