Severe Weather Update: Wednesday, March 4, 2026
Wednesday afternoon, a SLIGHT risk for severe weather is in place across the viewing area. A line of storms will move through Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. The main concerns will be winds up to 65+ mph, large hail up to half dollar size and an isolated tornado possible, mainly north of Cape G. Storm timing: 11am Wednesday- 10am Thursday morning.
A line of thunderstorms is already persisting along a front just north & west of Cape Girardeau Wednesday morning.
By noon, more STRONG to SEVERE storms will develop and intensify through 7pm. We will be posting updates through this event!
An isolated tornado will be possible Wednesday afternoon. The best chance for a tornado will be near MT. Vernon.
Hail up to half dollar size will be possible with these storms Wednesday afternoon.
Winds up to 65+ mph will be likely with this line of storms Wednesday afternoon.
