Record High Temperatures for Saturday, Storms Late on Sunday
Record-setting heat is likely for Cape Girardeau on Saturday as highs reach the middle 80s. Below is a list of record highs for Saturday, March 21:

- Poplar Bluff, MO: 80° (1918)
- Carbondale, IL: 83° (1938)
Another mild evening is expected tonight with overnight lows only falling to the 50s.
Partly cloudy skies will help keep some heat trapped in for Cape Girardeau through the overnight hours.
Record high temperatures are expected for much of the viewing area tomorrow. Highs will reach the 80s with a light breeze and plenty of sunshine.
Mostly sunny skies are expected for any Saturday plans in Cape, and winds should be light for the majority of the afternoon.
The chance for severe weather returns on Sunday, with portions of the viewing area under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather. This means we could see an isolated severe storm or two, with damaging winds the main concern in stronger storms.
Temperatures reach their peak on Sunday ahead of an evening chance for showers and thunderstorms. We see another chance for storms late Tuesday as temperatures return to the 50s and 60s.
