Sunny Weekend, Storm Chances Loom Monday
Sunny and pleasant to start the weekend across the Heartland. We expect plenty of sunshine this weekend with highs in the upper 70s.
With the exception of a stray spot shower, the latest runs of StormCast keep us dry for the start of the weekend.
Temperatures will be relatively mild for the Heartland early on Saturday morning, with overnight lows in the 50s.
There is a chance of a brief shower early in the evening, but we should stay clear in Cape Girardeau for most of the overnight hours.
High temperatures will try for the upper 70s and lower 80s with winds out of the north and east.
Close to, if not a top-10 day on Saturday in Cape Girardeau, be sure to get out and enjoy the nice weather!
Chances are increasing for a severe weather threat on Monday afternoon into Monday evening. All severe weather hazards appear to be in play. While we are a good way out, models have been consistent in their storm chances. We will continue to monitor this threat through the weekend. Now is as good a time as ever to make sure you know your severe weather plan.
Temperatures will peak alongside our storm chances on Monday afternoon, reaching the lower 80s. We return to the 70s, with small daily chances of precipitation through the rest of April.
