Sunny, Still Cooler on Thursday
We are expecting a little more sunshine for your Thursday forecast, though temperatures look to stay on the seasonally cooler side across the Heartland.
The latest runs of StormCast keep us dry and show plenty of sunshine going into Friday.
Thursday morning starts with lows in the 40s for much of the viewing area. This is noticeably cooler than the mid-50s that we typically see in early May.
A few passing clouds are possible overnight, though we should see mostly clear skies by sunrise in Cape Girardeau. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid 40s.
While a few spots may try their best to hit the 70s on Thursday afternoon, most of us look to fall short in the middle to upper 60s.
On the positive side, we should see plenty of sunshine on Thursday in Cape, even if we are a bit cooler than average.
Temperatures will warm up by the end of the work week and through the weekend into the 70s and 80s. There is a small chance for a stray shower, possibly a thunderstorm late Friday night. Another chance for showers and thunderstorms could have an impact on any outdoor Mother’s Day plans. Afternoon highs will continue close to average for the start of next week.
