Mostly Sunny, Brief Showers Possible on Monday Afternoon
Mostly sunny skies ahead for Sunday with a brief chance for a shower or two across the Heartland. Even with northerly winds throughout the afternoon, summer-like temperatures will continue.
The latest runs of StormCast show the chance for a brief shower or two during the afternoon hours on Monday.
Lows will be just a couple of degrees above average for Sunday morning across the viewing area. Winds continue to be a non-factor heading into Sunday afternoon.
We may see a few sprinkles behind the line of showers and storms that moved through early on Saturday evening, but other than that, we should stay quiet for fireworks.
Sunday will be fairly status quo for early July in the Heartland. Highs are expected to reach the lower 90s with a few brief showers possible.
Those in Cape will see a fair amount of sunshine for Sunday afternoon, with a few brief sprinkles during the hours of peak daytime heating.
Daily chances for showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast for the upcoming week. Severe potential remains low for the moment over the next couple of days, but will continue to be monitored. Highs range from the upper 80s to the lower 90s.
