Pockets of Sunshine, Afternoon Storms on Monday
Monday brings temperatures just below our average mark for the year, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon.
The latest run of StormCast shows scattered chances of showers and thunderstorms for the majority of Monday afternoon. Severe potential will be minimal with these storms.
Lows on Sunday night into Monday morning are close to average for early July, reaching the upper 60s and lower 7os.
After afternoon and early evening showers, it should be relatively calm close to the weekend in Cape Girardeau.
Most of us reach the mid-80s on Monday afternoon, with chances of showers and storms likely bringing us down from our typical highs for this time of year.
Expect pockets of sunshine between afternoon storm chances in Cape with a light northerly breeze.
Temperatures return closer to average by the end of the upcoming week, with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms. Thursday looks to be the hottest day on the forecast, with heat indices above 100° possible in the Heartland.
