Sunny, Seasonably Cool Start to the Week
Mostly sunny skies highlight the forecast for the start of the work week in the Heartland. Afternoon highs will be just below average in the middle 80s.
The latest runs of StormCast keep the viewing area mostly clear of precipitation chances for the start of the week. While a brief blip on the radar here and there cannot be ruled out, most of us will be dry.
Low temperatures will also fall just below average, down to the middle and upper 60s for the start of the day on Monday.
Mostly clear skies tonight in Cape Girardeau, and light winds will aid in the development of fog overnight. Our temperatures drop to the middle 60s for the morning commute.
A light northerly wind across the viewing area should make for a refreshing start to the week. Temperatures will be a couple of degrees cooler than average for early August.
Outside of any lingering morning fog, expect mostly sunny skies in Cape, which will set up for a pleasant afternoon!
Temperatures gradually warm up this week, back close to average by Wednesday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast for the end of the work week, with seasonal temperatures continuing into the weekend.
