Summertime Weather Continues Wednesday, Rain Chances Later This Week
Temperatures and humidity typical for early August are set to continue into Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies. A light breeze out of the south will pick up during the afternoon.
Overnight temperatures are forecast just below average across the viewing area. Higher levels of humidity and light winds overnight will favor chances for patchy fog once again on Wednesday morning.
Areas of fog may impact the morning commute in Cape Girardeau; otherwise, mostly clear skies through the majority of the overnight.
Add a couple of degrees to Tuesday afternoon’s forecast, and we get our conditions for Wednesday afternoon. Highs linger close to average in the Heartland, with the lower 90s possible in a few areas.
Sunny skies return for Wednesday afternoon in Cape, with a light southerly wind guiding us to seasonal temperatures and humidity.
The latest runs of StormCast show quiet conditions for the viewing area on Wednesday. Early Thursday morning is a different story, as a disturbance moves in from the north.
Mid-to-long range models have storms fizzling out across the viewing area through early Thursday morning. That being said, several chances for showers and thunderstorms will move through the area by the end of the work week.
Chances for showers continue into the weekend as above-average temperatures gradually return to the region. Temperatures are expected in the lower 90s by the end of the weekend and into early next week.
