Hot and Humid Sunday, Isolated Evening Storms
Sunday afternoon will feature another round of extreme heat for the Heartland, as feels-like temperatures could reach up to 115 degrees. An Extreme Heat Warning is in place until 8 p.m. CDT on Sunday, August 15.
Feels-like temperatures across the region will be well above 100 degrees on Sunday afternoon, creating dangerous conditions for anyone spending extended time outdoors.
The latest run of StormCast shows isolated showers and storms possible on Sunday evening, mainly for the northern half of the viewing area.
With those isolated storms on Sunday evening, one to two may be on the strong to severe side. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather is in place. If we do see strong storms, damaging winds will be the main concern.

We start Sunday with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s, offering little relief from the warmer weather we have seen over the past couple of days.
Clear skies are expected Saturday night into Sunday morning in Cape Girardeau, setting us up for a warm afternoon to follow.
Sunday afternoon looks to be a scorcher, with forecast highs across the viewing area in the upper 90s and lower triple digits.
There is a shot we get to the 100-degree mark during the afternoon for an air temperature in Cape. Feels-like temperatures could be 10 to 15 degrees warmer in the afternoon.
Temperatures drop for the start of the work week before returning to the 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional storm chances return our highs closer to average to round out the work week.
