The heat continues
The heat and humidity is going to stick around for the next several days. There is, however, a small storm chance on Friday.
The incredibly hot start to September continues. Cape Girardeau continues to see the warmest mean high temperatures and mean average temperature on record. We are sitting in 2nd for the warmest mean low temperature, behind 1991 by 1.7 degrees.
Friday will tack on another day in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. Almost 20 degrees above average.
The dew point will still be a little high, so the muggy factor remains.
The heat index will be well into the 100s Friday afternoon.
The Heat Advisory is in place through Sunday evening.
There is a small chance for a few isolated storms Friday afternoon and evening. They would be brief and non-severe.
