Pleasant Start to the Week, Rain Chances Looming

We are looking ahead to a pleasant start to the work week with mostly sunny skies in the Heartland. High temperatures will be near average in the upper 70s.

The latest run of StormCast shows a quiet Monday ahead across the viewing area. A few passing clouds, though we look to stay dry for now.

Winds remain on the lighter side through Monday afternoon, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Enjoy some time outdoors in Cape Girardeau on Monday, especially with wet weather looming in the forecast.

We will add a few degrees to those high temperatures on Tuesday, with highs for most in the lower to middle 80s.

Long-term models still hint at heavy rainfall across the Great Plains and Ohio Valley through the next several days. Many of us will likely see over an inch of rainfall on the gauge, if not more.

Expect temperatures to build ahead of daily rain chances by the start of October. Chances for showers and an occasional thunderstorm will linger into next weekend, bringing out highs back to the 70s.
