Sunshine continues for Heartland, with a pleasant early-October afternoon ahead to start the work week. Monday will see high temperatures in the middle 70s with a northerly breeze.

Temperatures remain close to normal on Monday morning, with overnight temperatures down into the 50s.
Minimal impacts are expected for the morning commute in Cape Girardeau, though we may want to take a light jacket heading out the door just to be safe.
Highs are expected to reach the middle and upper 70s across the viewing area on Monday afternoon. There will be plenty of sunshine with a refreshing northeasterly breeze.

We will tack on a couple of degrees on Tuesday as winds taper off in the viewing area. Still looking at highs close to average for this time of year, if not a couple of degrees warmer.
Our extended forecast remains dry, with above-average temperatures making a return later in the week. Highs will reach the middle 80s before a shift in the weather pattern brings temperatures down alongside chances of precipitation.
