Great Fall Weather to Start the Week
Pleasant fall weather will usher in the start of the work week in the Heartland. It could be another morning for the jacket, though expect short-sleeve weather to return by the afternoon.
Cloud cover will be hard to come by to start the day on Monday, according to the latest runs of StormCast. A few more clouds work their way into the Heartland late Monday, though precipitation chances are nonexistent over the next several days.
Isolated areas of frost cannot be ruled out on Monday morning, with lows down to the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Clear skies allow us to fall to the lower 40s in Cape Girardeau. Light winds would allow frost to form if we get cold enough.
Monday afternoon features highs in the lower to middle 70s under plenty of sunshine.
A great afternoon ahead for any outdoor plans in Cape. Winds remain on the lighter side as any cloud cover looks to hold off until Monday evening.
Tuesday afternoon will see seasonal temperatures, if not slightly above average highs for mid-October.
The warming trend continues through the work week, with highs reaching the upper 70s heading into next weekend. The extended forecast remains dry for now, with active weather impacting areas west of us by the start of next week.
