Monday Morning Showers, Storms Tuesday
Weather Headlines:
Isolated showers will be possible on Monday morning before overcast skies remain through the afternoon. Temperatures look to remain mild for the start of November in the Heartland.
The latest run of StormCast shows Monday morning’s showers as the appetizer to the main event heading our way Tuesday. Widespread showers and a few thunderstorms move into the area throughout Tuesday and look to depart early Wednesday.
As the front swings on through Tuesday, an isolated severe storm or two will be possible. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for the western half of the viewing area, with damaging winds being the main concern in the strongest storms.
Forecast:
Temperatures will fall to the 50s through the overnight hours, with cloud cover keeping us well above average for early November.
A few sprinkles remain possible in Cape Girardeau overnight with mild temperatures and winds out of the east and southeast.
Highs look to make it to the 70s for most of us as southerly winds usher in warmer air to the viewing area. Overcast skies and an early chance of showers could dampen afternoon temperatures.
Even after rain chances clear out around midday, expect overcast skies to continue on Monday afternoon in Cape.
Winds will continue to pick up on Tuesday, pushing afternoon highs to the middle and upper 70s ahead of afternoon and evening storm chances.
Those heading to the polls will want to keep an eye on the radar, with rain chances continuing into early Wednesday morning. Sunshine returns for the back of the work week, alongside seasonal high temperatures.
