Building Community Unity event hosted by Lion of Judah Outreach Ministries

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI ) – Saturday community leaders joined together for the first-ever Building Community Unity event hosted by Lion of Judah Outreach Ministries (LOJ).

Lion of Judah Outreach Ministry Director Deborah Young put together the event to help bring community leaders together and bring attention to their goals of fighting injustices in the community.

“Community unity leadership outings for the children as well as for the community leaders to let everybody know that we have organizers and people working with the community of children that need our help and falling through,” said Young.

Young says this event is especially for the children who may not be getting the support they need.

“Falling through the cracks, we find school systems that are not supporting the whole child when they work with them,” said Young.

Along with Saturday’s events, Young wants to offer vocational Bible sessions for the community’s children to give them a comfortable place to go with trusting people.

“We want to build a platform for these children to feel comfortable when they come in and they know they have a friend in us,” said Young.
