Ice cream socials celebrate Missouri’s bicentennial Aug. 10

Several southeast Missouri communities are holding an ice cream social to celebrate!

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KBSI) – Celebrate Missouri’s Bicentennial with an ice cream social on Statehood Day, Tuesday, Aug. 10.

The City of Advance, along with the Bank of Advance and the Knights of Columbus will host an old fashion ice cream social in Umfleet park on Tuesday, August 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will feature free ice cream for the public made by old fashioned machines powered from a John Deere hit-n-miss motor. There will also be hand crank ice cream machines for children to turn and experience the process of making ice cream the old fashioned way! Janie Brown and the Chestnut Mountain Gang will be playing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
