Dominic Ferraro
Dominic Ferraro is a meteorologist with KBSI FOX23 whose interest in weather began in an unexpected way. As a child, he was initially afraid of storms — a fear that eventually grew into a fascination with understanding how weather works and how it impacts people’s lives.
A lifelong Lincoln resident and devoted Huskers fan, Dominic originally planned to pursue a forecasting career with the National Weather Service. That path shifted after multiple job-shadowing experiences at KLKN during high school and college, where he discovered a passion for broadcast meteorology and communicating weather clearly to the public.
Dominic interned at KLKN in the summer of 2024, further solidifying his interest in on-air forecasting. He graduated from University of Nebraska–Lincoln in May 2025 with a degree in meteorology and climatology, along with minors in broadcasting and mathematics. He later returned to KLKN in a full-time role before joining the FOX23 team.
Outside the weather center, Dominic enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending Husker football games, being outdoors and making music.
