Jackson boy places game day ball on mound at St. Louis Cardinals home opener

ST. LOUIS (KBSI) – The St. Louis Cardinals kick off the 2022 baseball season with the season opener on Thursday, April 7.

The game day ball was placed on the pitcher’s mound by Jackson native Jimmy Williams.

Williams is a heart transplant recipient. He received a new heart in 2020.

Veteran Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright battled Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher JT Brubaker. The game started at 3:15 p.m. at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals won.
