KBSI Fox 23’s McIntire honored as Person of Impact at SEMO Redhawks football game

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – One of KBSI Fox 23’s own was honored as a Person of IMPACT at the SEMO Redhawks Football game on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The Redhawks took on the UT Martin on Senior Day for the team’s IMPACT game which recognizes individuals throughout the region who are making an impact in their communities.

KBSI marketing consultant Brandy McIntire was honored as a Person of IMPACT. Three Redhawks football student-athletes played the game with her name on their helmets. Will Christopher, offensive lineman for the Redhawks, was one of the players who played with McIntire’s name on his helmet.

“From what I have seen you are an amazing woman,” Christopher said to McIntire after the game. “Everything you do is awesome. I mean you set up a 5K. You’re president of the United Way. You’re doing amazing things for the Cape Girardeau community. I appreciate it. You brought in so many different businesses and everything from what I’ve seen for this program and for SEMO Athletics so we really appreciate it.”

McIntire says it was a great honor to be chosen as a Person of IMPACT.

“I do like doing things for the community,” she said. “I’ve been on the United Way board since 2014 and now I’m the president. I’m in the middle of doing the Merry Mingle 5K December 11th in downtown Cape for Community Counseling Center Foundation. I did Dancing with the Stars in July for Community Partnerships. There’re so many good, wonderful nonprofits in the area that we can help people that are a little less fortunate than we might be. So it’s a true honor to do that to help the community. It’s just what I like to do!”

The Redhawks won against #8 UT Martin Skyhawks, 31-14. SEMO closed out its 2021 campaign by honoring its 21 seniors. The team finished with a winning record in conference play for a program record fourth consecutive year.
