SEMO Redhawks defensive back going to New Orleans Saints

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A Southeast Missouri State University football player is going to the New Orleans Saints.

Defensive back Lawrence Johnson is going to the Saints as an undrafted free agent.

Johnson is a 6 foot tall, 205 pound defensive back from St. Louis.

In 2022, he was a First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection, named to three different All-America Teams, including American Football Coaches Association (Second-Team), Stats Perform (Third-Team) and Phil Steele (Third-Team). Johnson started 12 games in the secondary. He was Southeast Missouri’s second-leading tackler with 86 stops. He had 45 solo tackles and assisted on 41 others.
