SEMO Track and Field athlete wins 2022 NCAA Hammer Throw National Championship

EUGENE, Ore. (KBSI) – A Southeast Missouri State University hammer thrower won the 2022 NCAA Hammer Throw National Championship for Southeast Missouri’s First-Ever Division I Outdoor Track & Field title.

Logan Blomquist broke a multitude of records as he finished in first place at nationals. His throw reached 73.37 meters.

Blomquist’s goal is to reach the 2024 summer Olympics.

“I am going to continue training until 2024 and then that is when the Paris Summer Olympics is happening,” he said. “So, there is no doubt in my mind I am going to be training for at least two more years trying to make the Olympic team and compete over there for USA.”
