SEMO’s Bell claims first OVC freshmen of the week honor

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Southeast Missouri State University’s men’s basketball guard Marqueas Bell was unanimously picked for Ohio Valley Conference freshman of the week.
Bell is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and scored double figures in two games to lead SEMO last week.
He had 17 points in 26 minutes at Eastern Illinois and turned around to score a season-high 18 during his first career start at SIU Edwardsville.
For the week, Bell shot 61.9%from the field, made 3-of-4 three-pointers and did not miss a free throw. He also grabbed eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.
It is the first OVC weekly honor of Bell’s career.
SEMO is ranked 10th in the Ohio Valley Conference and is set to take on Little Rock’s Trojans this Thursday February 22 at 7 p.m.
