Southern Illinois graduate signs to play basketball for WKCTC

(KBSI) – It was signing day for one southern Illinois high school graduate who is now preparing to embark on his college basketball career.

Wyatt Sherwin received academic scholarships and financial awards both at Illinois Wesleyan and University of Illinois, but he was determined in his desire to play collegiate basketball.

His patience paid off when he signed his letter of intent this week to attend and play basketball for West Kentucky Community and Technical College.

“What Wyatt brings to the table, he brings toughness, grittiness, a willingness to work, a willingness to learn,” said Justin Hill, assistant coach at WKCTC. “I have that confidence, he’s going to come in and he’s going to do whatever it takes, do whatever needs to be done on the court, for us to win.”

Sherwin says he’s looking forward to this next chapter and what awaits him scholastically and physically on the court inside Haws Gymnasium in Paducah.
