Golf tournament raises more than $130,000 to feed hungry children

More than 200 golfers turned out for a fundraiser for the Summer Tiger Bites Feeding Program and the Backpack Program.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – More than $130,000 was raised to feed hungry children in the area during the The Friends of Saint Francis Golf Tournament on August 20 at Dalhousie Golf Club.

The turnout for this four-person scramble included 212 golfers and 30 volunteers. The money raised cover the costs for the Summer Tiger Bites Feeding Program and the Backpack Program during the school year.

Winners of the morning championship flight were sponsored by Ford and Sons Funeral Home. Team members included Josh Ford, Josh Liley, Rick Wieser and Courtland Kohlfeld.

Winners of the morning “A” flight were sponsored by Workday. Team members included Jason Snow, Chad Berkbuegler, Jim Whistler and Eric Schnurbush.

Winners of the morning “B” flight were sponsored by Metro Electric Supply/Metro Lighting. Team members included Christopher Johnson, Justin Johnson,
Hootie Bonner and Jarrett Stafford.

Winners of the afternoon championship flight were sponsored by Gerdan Slipforming. Team members included Blake Driskell, Todd Obergoenner, Rick Goodman and Richard Buchanan.

Winners of the afternoon “A” flight were sponsored by Presort, Inc. Team members included Jeromy Fritz, Mike Busalaki, Dave Gansmann and Bill Claxton.

Winners of the morning “B” flight were sponsored by Kevin and Amy Blanton. Team members included Carroll Couch, Brandon Couch, Luke Blanton and Randy Bohannon.
