90s and Mostly Sunny Skies Continues for Wednesday
Forecast:
Temperatures remain above average on Wednesday for much of the Heartland, as we still see high temperatures in the lower 90s entering the back half of September. Mostly sunny skies today with a light and variable breeze.
Low temperatures this evening will also remain above average, dropping down into the mid-60s. However, a few of us may see some cooler air from the north, dropping temperatures into the upper 50s with mostly clear skies.
A smooth morning commute tomorrow in Cape with temperatures in the 60s and 70s as you head out the door.
Temperatures will once again reach the lower 90s on Thursday under mostly sunny skies. Winds are expected to remain light, with temperatures staying in the 80s until after 9 p.m. tomorrow.
Much of the Heartland sees high temperatures run 10-15 degrees above average on Thursday with mostly sunny skies. The majority of us will see the mid-90s, with heat indices staying in the mid-90s as well.
A pop-up shower or two cannot be ruled out tomorrow afternoon, but the latest runs of Stormcast keep the majority of the precipitation off to our west.
Temperatures finally begin to cool down heading into this weekend, with highs falling to the upper 80s. Chances for isolated showers and thunderstorms continue through the weekend, including for Southeast Missouri State’s matchup with Southern Illinois on Saturday. High temperatures will remain in the mid-to-upper 80s through the first half of next week.
