A cooler regime arrives for the weekend

Friday was another hot day across the FOX 23 coverage area, and it will likely be our last day with intense heat for the time being.

Thunderstorms also rolled through the area on Friday night. We cannot rule out a few more of these showers and storms overnight and into Saturday morning.

We’ll keep some clouds for much of the day on Saturday, and there’s a very small chance to see a stray shower. That said, we expect most (if not all) of the day to be dry. You’ll also notice the cooler temperatures. Highs drop into the 80s for many on Saturday.

While temperatures start to rebound on Sunday, the humidity will actually decline. Highs will be in the middle and upper-80s on Sunday. That, coupled with low humidity and sunshine will make Sunday a great day to be outside.

The combination of cooler highs and lower humidity will allow us to drop the “Skeeter Meter” into the medium territory on Sunday.

Skeeter Meter

Temperatures rise back into the 90s starting Monday. While temperatures continue to climb on Tuesday, a weak disturbance will pass by and may bring some isolated storms along with it. Once that system passes, temperatures back off slightly until the end of the workweek.
