A quiet and cooler start to the new year

New Year’s Eve high temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 50s. Temperatures will be a little cooler for parts of southern Illinois and SEMO.

We will end 2023 on the sunny side, with temperatures at or near normal. We cool even more heading into the first day of the new year.

Much of NYE will be sunny and near normal, overnight into New Year’s Day we dip into the upper 30s. Highs struggle to warm into the lower 40s for the first day of the new year.

Temperatures will be up and down for the first week of 2024. We will be rather dry, with small chances for precipitation towards the middle of the week.
